"So our New Years Resolutions/Goals are to teach Lucia how to eat and maybe even drink."  I posted that resolution on January 7th, 2012.  And now here we are June 3rd, 2012 and drink she does!  Our Little Lu drinks, and drinks, and cries for more!  And lately, she has turned into a ravenous little bird that LOVES to drink her pediasure milk!!!  And when this little bird drinks, she knows what she wants.  If we water her formula down too much, she pushes the bottle out of her mouth with her tongue - she KNOWS it's not as tastey!!  Praise GOD, Lucia drinks AND has preferences AND a hungry attitude to go with it- and we LOOOOOOOOVE it!!!   Our Little Lu has turned into and acts like a baby- we've created a hungry, bottle drinking baby! Go Lu, Go Lu, its da best, Go Lu.

A situation so simple has brought so much joy and made me so proud.  Almost every weekday, I walk to a little kids park by our house, Turtle Park.  I walk my baby and my dogs and we join the other kids as they run and play and swing and act like kids.  Lu needs support in the swing, and she may look a bit different with her oxygen, marked floppyness/muscle tone, and now cast, but when she cries, a hungry cry,  I hold my Lubird in my arms, grab the bottle and feed her, just how the other babies feed!  A situation that did not exist, just a short time ago, simply feeding my baby in my arms.  Ahhhhhhhh... Our bird is a beautiful bottle drinking baby.  We're still taking it slow, not all by mouth, but Thank You God for letting this be.  And please don't let this feeding ever go on hold again.

Today we celebrated a special birthday, Lu's cousin Charley turned 2 years old today!  Charley is so sweet with Lu, as is her cousin, almost 2 years old, Kayla Hunt.  In a few years time they'll be taking care of Lu on their own- that's how good they are :)  Happy Birthday Charley Hicks!  We love your gentle and sweet care to Lucia and those around you, your pure little girl personality, not to mention your high sense of fashion!

Happy Birthday to our good friend Elyse today too!  AND we welcome two beautiful babies to this world.  Our friends, Karen and Eric Tscharner gave birth to a baby girl, Charley Mae, on May 31st, and Scott and Amanda Moss gave birth just an hour ago, on June 3rd, Brook Katherine!  Gotta love all those girls, girls, girls-right guys?!!
